The Australian Apprenticeship Access Program

Outsource Personnel is a Access Program Provider

What is the Access Program?

Mission Australia is contracted by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations to provide the Australian Apprenticeships Access Program (the Access Program) across many areas of New South Wales, ACT, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.
The priority of the Access Program is to provide job seekers who experience barriers to employment with pre-vocational training, support and assistance to obtain and maintain a traineeship or apprenticeship. Other outcomes are employment and further education or training.
Training provided through the Access Program is nationally recognised under the Australian Quality Training Framework, is based on labour market needs, and is linked to an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.
Mission Australia's Access Program helps eligible job seekers to become ‘job ready' by providing them with training in the basic skills required for industry. This training will have a minimum of 150 hours duration and will include nationally recognised training as well as other skills that employer’s value. These can include general work skills such as time management, organisational skills, communication skills and occupational health and safety.
The Access Program also offers individualised job search support for up to 13 weeks following the training to help the participant find a suitable traineeship or apprenticeship. This will include assistance in finding a suitable position, writing a resume and preparing for an interview. The program also offers post placement support and mentoring for the first 13 weeks of employment to assist in ensuring the participant maintains this employment.
Access Program participants must be genuinely interested in participating in the training, be interested in obtaining a traineeship or apprenticeship in the targeted industry/s and meet the specified eligibility criteria. Participants must also ensure Centrelink activity testing compliance requirements are satisfied, where applicable.
Employers placing Access Program participants in an Australian Apprenticeship may be eligible to receive attractive Australian Government financial incentives.
